In Kathmandu it’s easy to get lost in the labyrinth of small roads crisscrossing, there is no order, no orthogonality. In between if you look carefully you can find yards, oasis of calm in a noisy and congested city, where people live their everyday life, work in a shop, talk, cook in the open air or play. They are little islands from the noise of the traffic around, astonishing the flock of birds.
I had a few intense days there, walking around alone, trying to make the point and understand where my place in the world was (literally and metaphorically). I don't know if the place helped but I'm happy I was there at that time.
Bus standIt is hard to catch a bus when nobody speaks English and ten guards from ten different buses shout prices, destinations and who knows what else
We did a short trekking in the valley of Helambu, there was not much to record but I liked the small villages or farms we passed by walking: herds of animals, people talking and smells that unfortunately I could not register (record?).
Again, I don't know what this man was selling, he was walking in a narrow road and I find he's voice is so rich and warm.
